Goals

The purpose of this lesson is to help trainees to understand the basics of creating and using graphic images for web pages.

Enabling Objectives

During this lesson, trainees will be shown examples of jpegs and gifs, and an explanation of their proper uses.

Terminal Objectives

Upon completing this lesson, several terminal objectives will be attainable:

  1. Trainees will be able to explain what parts of a web page are usually graphics files.

  2. Trainees will be able to determine the proper usage of gifs and jpegs, and what sort of image requires which format.

  3. Trainees will be able to distinguish between two enlarged images, determining which image was "scaled" (distinguished by pixelation) and one which was "re-sampled".

  4. Trainees will be able to state the largest recommended image area and average resolution recommended for web page images.
